"number" means to enter a number, positive or negative. Z means the up-down direction, and it helps to fix stuff that's "floating" on top of debris. X and Y are map directions, and stuff is rarely oriented directly east/west and north/south. Open up the console and select the item in question. For example, placing fences together without huge gaps in between.įirst, use one of the following commands to adjust the placement/rotation. Whether one considers this a cheat is not could be debatable, but it was the only way I could get some stuff to work given the extremely finicky nature of the building mechanics. The cheaty way is to use the console for minor adjustments. Easier to rotate but shifting your body rather than using the mouse keys. Helps to get close to the edge and eyeball it.

On PC selected object, then hold down the E button for better movement. What you need is to put the first floor/foundation down square. add a 'pourable form' to fill any wierd sub-2 slot spaces and wierd roof/floor shapes and you've got a *real* construction kit. Mix and match and snap any angle you want. WW DLC should have included a couple of concrete wedges of 15 degrees (covers 15, 30, 45, 60, 75 degree bends) and 9 degrees (9, 18, etc etc up to 36 and 72 degrees).

Instead of trying to futz together an angle, I made steps with the round sections, which let me both snap everything (vanilla) and allowed for snapped floors/roofs without resorting to overlaying panels (which I did have to do to tie things together with the castle wall).ĮDIT: the Castle can be a real bear for this kind of work, because almsot everything is some part of a 72 degree angle, and *nothing* snaps that way. The nearer part is a big concrete enclosure for my power and water plant, but the aligned side walls didn't work with the angle of the settlement boundary. Sometimes those angles can be both avoided and made into interesting features of walls. This way the finished wall itself can have rooms inside, and usually shops fits in there flawlesly. If you want different angles, to make pentagon or exagon shapes, don't snap the next row, but build it as close as possible to the already existing raw, then close the angles with round shaped foundations or angled fundations. 90° angles are very easy, just snap another fundation. When you reach the next corner (becouse you started from a corner), it depends on the shape you want to make. When you have placed a row of them, if you see that they are not aligned properly, while in workshop mode, if you keep pressed E, the whole row of foundation is selected at once and you can adjust all of it at once instead of piece by piece. Since they can sink into the ground, you can create an even surfce even if the settlement floor is uneven.īeing sqaure shaped and not thin walls, it's easier to align them, and they will snap themselves, even withouit mods. First thing place concrete fundation, the "tall" one wich sink into the ground. My suggestion is to never just put walls. Now my buildings look slanted or haphazardly placed. Trying to build some prewar/institute or vault buildings but i cannot build straight walls or foundations which is so annoying!

so PLEASE stop it.Originally posted by Germanyball:I installed some mods and using the scrap everything mod started "cleaning up" sanctuary. BUT drinking water from a radiated source has no purpose at all. but i see, that sitting at least has a purpose in the game. while sneaking, because i loose cover every time i hit 'sit' instead of 'take'. looting from seats still is a pain in the ♥♥♥ - esp. i'm also glad, that you found a solution to loot cigarettes or pencils from desks without entering their inventory, each time i miss my target for a few millimeters. I'm very happy to see, that you got rid of the option to drink water from toilets. it's just annoying for a gamer like me, that hits the loot-button every time something appears on the screen. So PLEASE could you stop making radiated water drinkable in your next game. (FONV by obsidian was different because it had a hardcore mode, where the char gets thirsty, and there were lots of clean water sources.) i didn't want to do this in FO3 and i don't want to do this in FO4. I do NOT EVER want to drink water from a lake, a puddle, the sea.
